Policies

Dogs are accepted for grooming under the following conditions

  1. The dog is fit, healthy and vaccinations are upto date.
  2. Grooming of elderly dogs is entirely at the owners risk. Grooming may expose underlying skin or health problems that we cannot be held liable for.
  3. The Grooming Table abides by the Animal Welfare Act and therefore if dematting your dog would cause tremendous stress and discomfort, then a full clipdown may be recommended. A clipdown dramatically changes your dog’s appearance. The hair will be short and close to the skin. A clipdown may expose pre-existing skin complaints including: hotspots, sores, parasite infestation, urine and faeces scalding, fungal, bacterial and yeast infections. There is a possibility that your dog may require veterinary treatment after a clipdown. It is the Owner’s duty of care towards their dog, to maintain their dog’s coat in between professional grooming appointments.
  4. It must be clearly understood and agreed that whilst every care and attention is given to your dog, they are accepted at the owners risk. Our first concern is for the welfare of your dog so in the event of injury or illness a Vet may be called in and unless it can be clearly shown that we are liable, all costs in connection with and in the carrying out of this instruction shall be at the owners expense. We recommend Dog Insurance.
  5. Under no circumstances do we accepted sedated dogs.
  6. Owners are requested not to feed their dogs in the 2 hours prior to their appointment and ensure their animals are toileted. A dog with a stomach full of food and a full bowel/bladder will find the grooming process very uncomfortable. We do charge for the additional time and cleaning materials required in cleaning up after your dog.
  7. Payment must be made on collection of the dog. Owners are requested to collect their dogs at the time stated. We do not offer a dog sitting service nor are we insured to do so. All uncollected dogs will be charged an additional fee.
  8. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, without contacting us, then unfortunately you will miss your appointment slot and the cancellation fee will be applied.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE A DOG THAT PRESENTS A RISK OF INJURY TO ITSELF OR STAFF.

These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

Cancellation Policy:

We require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments. Time is reserved to groom your dog. All missed appointments will incur a cancellation fee payable before further appointments can be booked. Cancelling at the last minute or not showing up at all, means no income for us and your consideration is appreciated.
